Empathetic Instructional Design: Creating Emotional Value for Adult Learners

with Alexandra Pallas {an Inner Inspiration Week Event}

We’re way overdue to stop treating adult learning as a purely cognitive endeavor; yet, there’s a discrepancy between the theoretical knowledge that learning is by nature emotional and the ability to effectively design learning experiences that truly elicit the depth of emotion required to make learning memorable and impactful. Regardless of the delivery mechanism or the context, professional learning must be designed to be psychologically safe and emotionally valuable, not just cognitively rigorous.

During this session, you will:

  • Embark upon on a Quest of Empathy to better understand adult learners from deeply personal, emotional perspective
  • Explore why love matters in adult learning
  • Identify 5 ways to validate learner worthiness to bolster their learning

Who should attend? Instructional designers, educators, HR and leadership development professionals, coaches, trainers/facilitators, adult learning strategists, human capital analysts, talent development experts.
