The world is changing at a rapid pace. New technologies and new ways of working are becoming the norm and we need to be prepared for whatever the future holds. But what exactly is the best way to do that? One way is through active self-development. Taking an active role in your personal learning and development is more important than ever. It will help drive your career in the direction you want it to go instead of waiting for change to happen to you. 

As Talent Development professionals, we know that self-development and continuous learning is important; but do we practice what we preach? If so, are we using a scattered approach to our development or do we have goals in mind and targeted learning activities to help us achieve those goals?

Join us for a robust discussion on active self-development and the role it plays in moving your career forward.  We will discuss a framework for active self-development, identify ways to build your skills (both formal and informal), share tips and tools to help you make the most of your development time. Additionally, we will discuss ways to support others in building their skills in active self-development.

Chris Coladonato is currently a Senior Learning and Development Consultant at Farmers Insurance focused on engaging and supporting employees in their professional development journey. She is also a National Advisor with ATD and a past President of ATD Maryland.
