Topic:  Mastering the People Side of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) with Gabe Hamda

This presentation focuses on the people skills to prepare ISD professionals to handle the human dimension of the practice.  Key stakeholders of ISD are fellow ISD professionals, Project Managers, SMEs, End-Users, and Sponsors.

Mastering the people side of ISD includes seeking to know each stakeholder as a person and requirements, connecting with key stakeholders by showing interest in the person, discovering who the informal leaders or influencers are, getting the job done collaboratively, creating good will with people around you, contributing to the quality of life of the people you touch through your work, ensuring that people will find you delightful to work with showing some humility, and speaking the language of the stakeholder.  As an ISD professional, your mastery of ISD processes and tools is complete when you demonstrate successful people skills.

Presentation Objectives:

  • Self-assess your level of mastery of the people side of ISD.
  • Demonstrate universal skills in engaging stakeholders in ISD projects.
  • accurately assess the preferred engagement styles of stakeholders.
