Captivate vs. Storyline

Did you know that both Captivate and Storyline can produce soft skills and software simulation training? Or that both can produce highly interactive elearning content?

In this session, we’ll take a look at a sample of the same elearning course authored in both tools and see how both can produce very similar results.

We’ll explore some common features both tools share and how they differ between the two. Then, we’ll use those same features to take a deeper dive into the development techniques used in both tools.

Finally, will explore the answers to questions such as:

Is Storyline easier to use than Captivate?

Should I use Captivate or Storyline if I produce mainly soft skill training?

Is Captivate best for software simulations?

So if you’ve ever found yourself in the Captivate vs. Storyline dilemma, don’t miss this event.

About Our Speaker

Cheryl Berthau is a freelance elearning instructional designer and developer and has been one for over 10 years. She’s developed numerous elearning courses using a variety of authoring tools. Including Firefly, RoboHelp, Lectora, Articulate Studio, Camtasia, Captivate, and Articulate Storyline.

Cheryl “grew up” on Captivate, using every version from Captivate 3 to the present Captivate 8. A champion of all things elearning, she hasn’t met a subject that can’t be learned through elearning. As she likes to say “some just require lots of creativity and new ways of looking at what it means to use elearning as a medium of knowledge.”

Cheryl is an OPO - “a one person organization” and is the President and owner of her own company. In addition to designing and developing for her many clients, she teaches Captivate and Storyline classes for several organizations.  Cheryl is also proud to be a former president of the ASTD chapter of Maryland.
