What is your EQ and what is emotional intelligence? How does it affect daily professional activities in your business? Emotional intelligence has emerged as a key factor for workplace learning professionals, especially instructors, coaches, change facilitators, human performance improvement consultants, and organizational development professionals. Join us for a practical introduction to emotional intelligence.

Our presenter will discuss: 

  • What emotional intelligence is and what it is not 
  • A brief overview of Goleman’s model; a brief overview of Bar-On’s model
  • The EQ-I 2.0 model and EQ composites
  • Interpreting EQ scores
Our presenter: Allison Fritz, Ed. D. is an Organization Development and Training Consultant in the Corporate Training and Development of Johns Hopkins HealthCare. In addition to presenting at our July event, she participates in the ASTD Maryland Consultant Special Interest Group. Allison brings a focus on team, individual, and organizational effectiveness through team development, planning, retention initiatives, vision and culture alignment, management development, and coaching. Prior to her current position, Allison worked as an independent contractor, and also as Director for the downtown Baltimore location of the Education Center of the University of Maryland.
